The Hopkins Academy baseball team gave Evan Delaney all the run support he needed in the top of the first inning Tuesday in Orange.

The Golden Hawks scored four times and cruised to an 11-2 victory over Mahar Regional.

Nick Bernard had a single, two doubles, four RBIs and scored twice to lead Hopkins (5-9, 4-9 Hampshire).

Delaney earned the win striking out 10, while giving up two runs, four hits and three walks.

He helped himself with two hits, two runs and an RBI. Ethan Wenner had a hit, two walks and scored three times and drove in a run.

Gateway Regional 12, Holyoke Catholic 9 — Geoff Sobotka and Willis Pollard each had two hits and three RBIs as the Gators (7-7) won in Huntington.

Curtis Dowers had three hits and two RBIs, while Jonathan Haskell and Calvin Dowers each had a hit and RBI each.

Dorian Guidi went 4-for-4 with four RBIs for the Gaels (2-13), while Nick Limoges was 2-for-2 with two RBIs.

Central 9, Northampton 7 — The Blue Devils (7-8) scored twice in the bottom of the seventh, but left the tying runs on base to end the game at home.

Zach Goodwin-Boyd (2-for-4, triple, three RBIs) and David Konowitch each drove in runs, but were stranded when the game ended.

Robbie Logue had two hits, while Jay Wright added one hit, two walks and three runs scored in the loss.

South Hadley 4, Ludlow 2 ­— Nate Flachs (run), Joe Ciolek (run) and Patrick Sears (run, RBI) had two hits each as the Tigers (3-13) won at home.

Ciolek earned the win on the mound, striking out six and allowing five hits in seven innings of work.

Sean O’Connor, Liam Medina and Nick Robert had an RBI each.

Girls lacrosse

Amherst Regional 16, St. Mary’s 5 — The Hurricanes (2-13) scored a season-high 16 goals to win for the second time in three games.

Eliza Fishman scored five goals, while Taylor Bartmon (assist) added three. Leah Goldman (four assists), Meghan Sharick (two assists) and Sarah Mangels (two assists) each had two goals.

Clover Ulrich and Addie Gamliel each had one goal, while Katie Dunn made 11 saves.

Boys ultimate

Amherst 15, Northampton 8 — Johann Becker had an assist and seven goals as the Hurricanes rolled at home.

Tim Bobrowski added four assists and a goal, while Isaac Weitzman had three assists for Amherst (26-1).

Boys volleyball

Westfield 3, Belchertown 0 — The Orioles (3-17) closed out their season with the 25-15, 25-20, 25-14 loss at home.

Josh Santos had five kills, while Jordan Vigneault added four kills, four blocks and six digs.

Brandon Allen chipped in with 10 assists and four digs, while Caleb Bernard had five kills, five blocks, eight digs and two assists.

It was the final match for seniors Santos, Allen, Bernard and Joshua Bonetti.
