Northampton Council City has light agenda Thursday
NORTHAMPTON — The City Council will hold an especially light meeting Thursday when it gathers in the chambers of the Puchalski Municipal Building.
Other than approval of minutes for various committees, the council’s agenda includes these four items:
∎ The announcement of a pair of public hearings to be held at the council’s Nov. 7 meeting. The first, at 7:05 p.m., is a request by Sunoco, 775 North King St., to amend its fuel storage license. The second, at 7:10 p.m., is a tax classification hearing.
∎ A presentation from the Northampton Prevention Coalition.
∎ A financial order to appropriate $14,383 in additional funds for upgrades to Northampton High School’s heating system freeze protection. The council originally funded the project at $59,000 as part of its capital plan this year, but the contract came in at $87,765. The schools and city will split the shortfall.
∎ A second vote on a financial order to appropriate $26,200 from the general fund to pay for surveying and legal costs associated with private ways.
