Man, 33, arrested
after scuffle with police
EASTHAMPTON — Corey M. Engerman, 33, of 14 Pomeroy Meadow Road, was arrested in front of the Public Safety Complex March 10 after allegedly struggling with and injuring several police officers.
He was charged with resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and domestic assault and battery for allegedly putting his 10-year-old child in a choke hold, police said. The child did not need medical treatment, police said.
The assault was reported March 8 at 10 p.m. and police called Engerman to the Public Safety Complex March 10 at 4 p.m. He allegedly resisted when four police officers tried to arrest him until he was pepper-sprayed. Police said Officer Dennis Scribner and Detective Robert Alberti both suffered minor abrasions to their hands and knees in the scuffle but did not go to the hospital.
∎ Matthew J. Caliri, 21, of Bridgewater was arrested Friday at 1:40 a.m. on Montague Road on charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, negligent operation of a motor vehicle to endanger, failure to stay within marked lanes, failure to stop/yield and operating a motor vehicle without a license in possession, police said.
∎ Rob J. Orlando, 20, of Milton was arrested Friday at 1:35 a.m. on South Pleasant Street on charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and operating a motor vehicle with a lights violation, police said.
∎ Gary C. Churchill, 44, of 14 Bryan Ave., was arrested at his home on Wednesday on a charge of domestic assault and battery for allegedly pushing his wife.
∎ John S. Stubblefield, 34, of 142 North St., Unit 1, Northampton, was arrested Thursday at 11:43 p.m. on Laurel Drive on charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, speeding, failure to stay within marked lanes and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, police said.
∎ Eric M. Roberts, 31, who provided an address as the streets of Northampton, was arrested Thursday at 10:56 a.m. at Hampshire Mall on a charge of shoplifting, third offense, and on three warrants, police said.
∎ Jacob D. Skalski, 23, of Greenfield, was arrested about 1:58 a.m. Sunday near the intersection of North and King streets on charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol (second offense) and operating a motor vehicle the wrong way on a one way street, police said.
∎ Louis Cannamela, 52, of Ludlow, was arrested about 7:51 p.m. Saturday on Pleasant Street on charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol (fourth offense), operating a motor vehicle with a license suspended for OUI, and a marked lanes violation, police said.
∎ Robert Roy Ouilette, 57, whose address is listed as the streets of Northampton, was arrested about 7:31 p.m. Saturday at Cooley Dickinson Hospital on a charge of trespassing for allegedly refusing to leave the hospital after treatment, police said.
∎ Crystal Leigh Majkowski, 23, of 3 Solar Circle, Haydenville, was arrested about 6:25 p.m. Saturday at the Wal-Mart on King Street on a charge of shoplifting by concealing merchandise, police said.
∎ Harold J. Cannon, 51, of 43 Center St., was arrested about 5:04 p.m. Saturday near the intersection of Hawley and Hancock streets on a charge of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, after police allegedly spotted him driving on Hawley Street in a car with a missing tire.
∎ Christopher T. Sumner, 58, of 166 Depot Road, Hatfield, was arrested about 2:46 p.m. Saturday near King Street on charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and leaving the scene of property damage. According to police, Sumner struck and damaged a curb in the area of Cooke Avenue and Pine Brook Curve.
∎ Michael Marois, 30, of 236 South St., Apt. #2L, was arrested about 4:10 a.m. Saturday, on Bridge Street on charges of domestic assault, domestic assault and battery and vandalizing property. According to police, Marois was arrested after allegedly pushing and grabbing another person during an argument and knocking down a shelf.
∎ Sarah Garland Brown, 41, of 4 Oakdale Terrace, Easthampton was arrested about 9:49 p.m. Friday on Conz Street on charges of failure to stop for police, attaching plates to a motor vehicle, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, forging or misusing an RMV document and possession of an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle, according to police.
Rosemary Pease, 45, of 491 Bridge Road, Apt. #728, was arrested during the same incident on a warrant issued from Northampton District Court for failure to appear, police said.
