Browns celebrate 60th
Walter and Audrey Brown, of Easthampton, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on June 30th with an open house for family and friends.
Their granddaughter, Jessica Hodnicki, of Clearwater, Fla., surprised the couple when she arrived at the Browns’ home during the party to be part of the celebration.
Guests included many friends from childhood to the present, along with past employers and the former baby sitter of the couple’s children. Guests traveled from Florida, Virginia Beach, and several towns in Massachusetts to attend.
A display of photos taken over the years of guests with the Brown family, and of the Browns’ life together, was enjoyed by all.
A friend serenaded the couple with “The Anniversary Song.”
Walter is retired from R&R Window Contractors Inc., in Easthampton, and Audrey, who worked at the JFK Middle School’s library, is retired from the Northampton School Department.
Walter Brown and Audrey Parsons were married on April 11, 1953, in Northampton.
They had three children, Susan Hodnicki, David and Daniel Brown, and have six grandchildren.
The Browns plan a trip in the spring with Jessica’s parents, to visit their granddaughter in Florida.
