The following local residents have been named to the fall semester dean’s list at Alfred University in Alfred, N.Y.: Claire Thibodeau, daughter of Paula Russell and Daniel Thibodeau of Amherst, and Nicole Stewart of Belchertown.
William Dunn of Amherst, a junior majoring in robotics engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, recently completed an intensive hands-on research project in Costa Rica titled “Improving Energy Efficiency in Central America and the Caribbean Through the Expansion of the EnerG Tech Investment.” Dunn was required to complete a research-driven, professional-level project that addresses an important societal need or issue.
The following local residents have been named to the fall semester dean’s list at Becker College in Worcester: Rachel Walsh of Hadley and Zachary Thomas of Amherst.
Erin Marley of Belchertown has been named to the fall semester dean’s list at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Conn.
Air Force Reserve Airman Mykel B. Potter, son of Kathleen Brunelle of South Hadley and Barry Potter of Belchertown, has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.
Potter completed an intensive eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills. He is a 2009 graduate of South Hadley High School.

Jenna Husted of South Deerfield, Haley Nicol of Easthampton, Marguerite O’Shea of Granby and Stephanie Vlohiotis of Easthampton.
Marine Corps Private Anthony J. Golembeski, son of Angela Williams and Matt Golembeski, both of Cummington, earned the title of United States Marine after graduating from recruit training at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S.C. Golembeski is a 2012 graduate of Smith Vocational and Agricultural High School in Northampton.

Nathan Bombardier, son of Pamela Bombardier of Hadley and Glen Bombardier of Florence, has been named to the fall semester dean’s list at the University of Notre Dame College of Science in Notre Dame, Ind. He is a graduate of Hopkins Academy.
Brett Sullivan of Granby has been selected to represent Massachusetts as a national youth delegate at the 2013 Washington Youth Summit on the Environment at George Mason University in Fairfax, Va. Sullivan is a student at Granby Junior/Senior High School.
Emily Moriarty, daughter of Lynette and Brian Moriarty of Hatfield, has been named to the fall semester dean’s list at Springfield Technical Community College.
