Ashlee McGan and Krystel Enko had matching lines but the Hampshire Regional softball team came through in the clutch to beat Frontier Regional 5-1 and qualify for the postseason Thursday in South Deerfield.

Both pitchers struck out eight and allowed seven hits. McGan issued one walk, while Enko had two.

Danielle McGan led off the third with a double and eventually scored on a Savannah Waters sacrifice fly for a 1-0 Hampshire (10-1, 10-1 Franklin) lead.

Waters and Anna Dziok each hit solo homers in the fifth for a 3-0 lead.

Marissa McCarthy led off the sixth with a double and scored on a Danielle McGan single for a 4-0 lead.

In the seventh, Waters reached on an error and scored on a Bri Weltlich single.

Frontier pushed its run across in the seventh. The Red Hawks (9-4, 8-4) loaded the bases with two outs and Enko’s single plated the only run.

McKayla Poissant, Cassidy Stankowski and Enko each had two hits.

Frontier left 10 runners on base, including four in scoring position.

Longmeadow 8, Northampton 1 — The Lancers scored six times in the sixth to break open a previously tight game.

Emily Baldwin doubled and scored for Hamp (9-5, 1-2 Suburban), while Kate Kochapski had the other Blue Devil hit.

Easthampton 12, Ware 0 (6) — The Eagles (9-4) scored seven runs over the final three innings to mercy-rule the Indians at home and qualify for the postseason.

Caelin Mottor struck out two, walked none and scattered four hits in the win.

Rachel Connell (RBI, three runs) went 3-for-4, while Sydney Slattery (two runs, RBI) and Haley McFarland (run) each went 2-for-2.

Kayla McFarland (hit) had two RBIs in the win.

Baseball

Easthampton 11, Hampshire Regional 6 — After trailing 5-2 when the game was suspended in the middle of the second inning Wednesday, the Eagles made the most of new life.

Austin Crow, who wasn’t in the game when it started, earned the win in relief after entering in the second inning Wednesday and returning to the mound Thursday. He struck out four and allowed three hits, five walks and two runs. He helped his cause with an RBI single in Easthampton’s five-run third inning that tied the game at 5-5.

Zach Lewis had two hits, two runs and an RBI for Easthampton (7-4), while Chris Starcun also had two hits.

Adam Laroche and Nick Batchelder each had two hits for Hampshire (6-7).

Chicopee 4, Amherst 2 (5) — The Hurricanes (11-3) scored two in the first but the Pacers rallied and won the rain-shortened game at Szot Park in Chicopee.

Jaimon Olmsted had the lone hit for Amherst, which scored both runs with the help of three errors.

Jack Shrader stole two bases and walked, while Justin Carey (run) was hit by a pitch.

Sabis 9, Holyoke Catholic 4 — The Bulldogs took a 5-0 lead in the second and beat the Gaels (2-12) on the road.

Tim Orzechowski (run) had two hits, while Dorian Guidi (run), Tom Heavren (RBI), Jeff Laprade, Nate Laprade (two stolen bases) and Nick Limoges (RBI) each had one hit in the loss.

Girls lacrosse

Northampton 11, Amherst Regional 8 — The rivals were tied on two occasions in the second half, but the Blue Devils (7-6, 3-6 Valley Wheel) scored the final three goals to earn the road win.

Emily Biggs (assist) had four goals, including the game winner for Hamp. Molly King scored three times, while Missy Maiewski (assist), Shannon Keefe, Leila Kouakou and Kerry Fleming added a tally apiece.

Leah Goldman had two goals and two assist for the Hurricanes (2-11, 0-7). Taylor Bartmon scored three goals, Meghan Sharick had two and Sarah Mangels had a goal and an assist.

Dana Dufour and Bridget Harrington combined for five saves for Northampton, while Katie Dunn stopped five for Amherst.

Minnechaug 17, South Hadley 5 — Brooke Marion scored two goals, while Kelly Pouliot (assist), Meghan Ginley (assist) and Sienna Hebert each had one goal but the Tigers (7-6, 3-6 Valley Wheel) fell at home.

Maddie Brandts and Kara Callahan each had one assist, while Beth Hennessy made six saves in defeat.

Boys lacrosse

Westfield 7, Amherst Regional 6 (2OT) — The Bombers won the faceoff to start the second overtime period and scored right away to send the Hurricanes home disappointed.

Nick Johnson (two goals), Isaac Bass (two goals) and Kieran Presley (goal, assist) each had two points for Amherst (8-5, 2-4 Valley Wheel), while Donovan Riley added a goal and Drew Kosloski had an assist in front of Will Barstow (14 saves).
