Tuesday’s high school lacrosse: Amherst snaps 10-game losing streak, beats West Springfield

Leah Goldman and Taylor Bartmon each had four goals and one assist as the Amherst Regional girls lacrosse team snapped a 10-game losing streak with a 13-9 win over West Springfield at home.

Eliza Fishman and Meghan Sharick each had two goals for the Hurricanes (2-10). Clover Ulrich had one goal, while Sarah Mangels and Addie Gamliel each had one assist.

Katie Dunn made 10 saves for Amherst.

Northampton 11, Westfield 8 — Molly King had five goals and two assists as the Blue Devils (6-6) snapped a two-game losing streak with the win at home.

Emily Allcroft and Shannon Keefe each had two goals, while Grace Goodwin-Boyd and Missy Maiewski each had one.

Hunter Zackaricz had one assist, while Bridget Harrington (three saves) and Dana Dufour (two saves) split time in net for Hamp.

South Hadley 16, Holyoke Catholic 3 — Maddie Brandts scored four goals with an assist and Meg Ginley had three tallies and an assist to lead the Tigers (6-6) to an easy home win.

Brooke Marion scored once and assisted twice for South Hadley, while Kelly Pouliot had one of each. Sienna Hebert, Kara Callahan, Olivia Slysz, Gabrielle Delude, Keira Thornton, Tara Bainbridge and Amanda Lachat had one goal apiece.

Claudia Menard picked up a pair of assists, while Deanni Conti and Maddie Gatzounas has one each.

Lidia Hojnoski scored two goals for the Gaels (5-7). Rita Hannoush added a tally with Michelle Laflamme assisting once.

Beth Hennessey made three saves in the win, and Katie Klejna stopped six in net in the loss.

Boys lacrosse

Northampton 5, West Springfield 2 — Will Lombardi had three goals, while Alex Zadworny and Simon Harrity each had one goal as the Blue Devils (6-6, 2-5 Valley Wheel) won on the road.

Cody Malone had an assist, while Tyler Walsh made eight saves.

Westfield 11, South Hadley 4 — Jake Lesieur stopped 15 shots in goal, but the Tigers (12-3, 6-2 Valley Wheel) lost for the second time in three games.

Evan Marcus scored two goals for South Hadley, while TJ Fitzell and Tom Crotty added one each. Sam Duda and Pat Fitzgerald each had an assist in the loss.

Longmeadow 13, Amherst Regional 4 — Nick Johnson had a goal and an assist, but the Hurricanes (8-5, 4-4 Valley Wheel) lost at home.

Melvin Espinoza, John Traester and Drew Kosloski each added a goal.

Will Barstow had nine saves.
