Let’s force Congress to talk, solve problems
To the editor:
In regards to the recent delay in the “fiscal cliff” debacle, I have a few thoughts to present to eliminate the recurrence of such a case.
If it seems we are headed to another such situation, the president could take the following actions. Order federal marshals to return all senators and representatives, by force if necessary, to Washington, D.C., for a joint meeting of both houses of Congress.
Put them all in one chamber and then lock and seal the doors. No communication of any sort would be allowed with the outside world until a settlement is reached. I am sure this would produce amazing results in a short time.
