Northampton Education Foundation announces seventh annual requests for grant proposals
The Northampton Education Foundation Endowment Fund is now accepting proposals for $40,000 in grants for enrichment programs in city schools.
The latest grant cycle, which is the foundation’s seventh, will focus on the theme of “Global Connections,” according to a statement from the organization. The deadline for applications is March 1.
Proposals, which can be submitted by a group or individual with “demonstrated support from school personnel,” should be innovative, providing something different from current practice; broad-based, affecting large numbers of students; and have an enduring impact, with lasting benefits to students, curriculum and programming, according to the statement.
Preliminary proposals of no more than five pages should include a succinct description of the project, an assessment of resources needed and a description of the project’s value to the Northampton schools — among other required items.
Proposals, which can be sent via email to firstname.lastname@example.org, will be screened by an endowment Fund Distribution Committee. Finalists will be chosen to present proposals to the foundation’s Distribution Committee, with grant awards announced by the end of the school year.
Information about past grantees and foundation operations is available online at the Northampton Education Foundation’s website. For further details, contact Owen Freeman-Daniels at 413-530-1054 or Stan Schapiro at 584-3983.
