Yale sends UMass hockey to third straight loss
The University of Massachusetts hockey team pulled within a goal late in the second period, but Yale scored the first two goals of the third and coasted to a 4-2 win Tuesday in New Haven, Conn.
Steven Guzzo and Rocco Carzo each scored a goal for UMass (5-9-2), which has lost three straight.
Kevin Boyle made 22 saves.
The Minutemen are off until Dec. 30 when they play Bemidji State at 3 p.m. in the Ledyard National Bank Classic at Dartmouth.
Men’s basketball
Amherst 94, Anna Maria 67 — Connor Green finished with 24 points, seven rebounds, three steals and two assists as the Lord Jeffs (8-2) won in Paxton.
David Kalema added 20 points and four steals, while Allen Williamson and Peter Kaasila each had 13 points.
