Courtney Currie and Jamie Brousseau of Worcester were married Aug. 25 at Abbey Chapel at Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley. Justice of the Peace Patricia Shaughnessy officiated at the 4 p.m. ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Robert Currie of Westhampton and Jacqueline and Stephen Lapienski of Florence. The bridegroom is the son of Mark and Joyce Brousseau of Roxbury, Vt.
Following a reception at Mill One at Open Square in Holyoke, the couple honeymooned in Central America.
Katelyn Patrone was the matron of honor. The bridesmaids were Allison Sylvia, Brie Nicol, Alyson Fortier, Amy Nuttelman and Amanda LaPete, the bridegroom’s sister. The flower girl was Serena LaPete, the bridegroom’s niece.
John Hurley was the best man. The groomsmen were Kevin Peabody, Seamus Currie, the bride’s brother, Josh Marsden and Jeff Patrone. The ring bearer was Ian LaPete, the bridegroom’s nephew.
The bride, 27, is an English teacher and department chair for the Southbridge Public Schools. A 2003 graduate of Northampton High School, she received a bachelor’s degree in education from Fitchburg State College in 2007.
The bridegroom, 27, is a correction officer for the Massachusetts Department of Correction. A 2003 graduate of Quabbin Regional High School in Barre, he graduated from the Department of Correction Academy in Shirley in 2009.
