Kathleen Mellen’s Best Bets

FOR THE LOVE OF EMILY

Kathryn Burak, the author of “Emily’s Dress and Other Missing Things,” a young-adult novel about a girl who steals Emily Dickinson’s dress from the Emily Dickinson Museum in Amherst, is helping the museum restock its library shelves. She mentions the Replenishing the Shelves Project at readings, and sells buttons, tote bags and note cards she created that celebrate Dickinson’s poetry. “The connection seemed obvious,” Burak says. “My book ... could help bring back Emily’s books.” Burak reads Saturday at 2 p.m. at Amherst Books at 8 Main St. 256-1547.

ANOTHER GOOD BET

Check out Saturday’s “A Night To Remember,” a concert to benefit the Alzheimer’s and Music Project of the Northampton Community Music Center. Greene Hall, Smith College, Northampton. $15.
