AREA POLICE NEWS

Amherst

∎ Police responded to a fight involving four men outside the downtown bars Friday at 1:17 a.m. Edward A. Ainslie Jr., 34, of 266 East Hadley Road, Unit 99H, and Salbi Cedric Gonnet, 23, of Voorhees, N.J., were arrested on North Pleasant Street on charges of disorderly conduct, police said.

The other men, 18 and 19, and from Amherst, fled the scene, but were later identified and will be summoned to court on the charge of disorderly conduct, police said.

∎ Timmy Shawn McGough, 40, of 10 Belchertown Road, Unit 1, was arrested Friday at 1:16 a.m. on a charge of domestic assault and battery, subsequent offense, after he grabbed and twisted a woman’s arm and struck her in the face, police said.

Northampton

∎ Edward J. Cooper III, 27, of 18 Summer St., was arrested Friday at 1:24 a.m. at his apartment on a warrant issued by Hampshire Superior Court on charges of breaking and entering, larceny and vandalism.

∎ Frank Edison Durkee, 28, of 159 Pine St., was arrested Thursday at 10:17 p.m. at the River Valley Rest Home, on a warrant issued by Holyoke District Court for failing to register as a sex offender, according to police.

∎ Jamie Guerin, 35, of 491 Bridge Road, Apt. 731, was arrested Thursday at 8:11 p.m. at her apartment on a charge of disturbing the peace. Police said they had responded to a report of a disturbance in the apartment at which Guerin eventually began yelling at investigating officers.

∎ Tilman Luis Renner, 34, of 462 Main St. Apt. 2, in Hatfield, was arrested Thursday at 6:52 p.m. at Bridge Road and King Street on charges of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration, and driving and having an uninsured and unregistered motor vehicle. A passenger, Richard Howard Kellogg, 35, of 49 Reservoir Road in Leeds, also was arrested on two warrants on drug and larceny charges, according to police.

∎ Francis Michael Connor, 49, who police say lives on the streets of Northampton, was arrested Thursday at 5:57 p.m. at Florence Heights on a charge of disorderly conduct.

∎ Linda Cote, 55, of 51 Village Hill Road, Apt. 202, was arrested Thursday at 5:06 p.m. at the Big Y Supermarket on North King Street on charges of shoplifting by concealing merchandise and possession of a Class B drug (cocaine). Police said Cote was allegedly caught on security video attempting to steal batteries, dish soap and Prevacid tablets. At the time of her arrest, she was in possession of a straw with a white powder residue that police suspected to be cocaine.
