Hi 27° | Lo 17°

Stefanie Krantz

Job title and company: Owner of KrantzWellness, 92 Main St., Suite 202, Florence.

Age: 45

Your duties: I am a health coach and Reiki practitioner. I offer individualized programs for people who want to improve their health and reduce stress in their lives. I work with a wide range of clients and I offer expertise in the areas of self-care for parents, allergies, stress reduction and incorporating whole foods into one’s diet. I help my clients find their own unique path to wellness.

How did you land your job? I followed my passion to work as a health coach and launched KrantzWellness.

What’s most challenging about your work? My biggest challenge has been time. In addition to my coaching practice, I am a disability rights lawyer and a parent of two young children. I have a lot on my plate, but I love what I am doing and this keeps me going. I have found a way to balance my many roles and feel that this is a skill I can share with my clients.

What do you like about your job? I love working with my clients. The process of working closely with others to help them transform their lives in a sustainable way is inspiring. I also appreciate the flexibility of owning my own business and the freedom to do the work that is my passion.

What is your key to success? Follow your dreams to create a business that has value and is a good match for your skills.

Success will follow.

How do you feel the Valley economy will fare this year? I am an optimist and I feel that the economy is improving. I also believe that the “buy local” view of so many in the Valley helps support local small businesses.

Why did you choose to do business in the Valley? I have lived in the Valley for over 20 years and this is my community. This is exactly where I want to live and work.

Who has helped mentor you professionally? I have been fortunate to have many mentors. Among them are some of my teachers at the Institute of Integrative Nutrition of New York City (Andrew Weil, John Douillard, and Deepak Chopra), my Reiki teacher (Susan Downing), and my family who encouraged me to go after my dreams.

Name a few of your goals for the coming year: My goals for the coming year are to continue to grow my practice (both in-person and phone coaching), collaborate with local professionals to promote wellness initiatives, and to work on food and environmental policy issues.

Tell us a little-known fact about you: Although I often keep a very busy pace, I do need down-time to recharge. I enjoy hiking, reading and cooking.

What is your advice for others seeking business success? Find work that provides personal fulfillment and value to others and pause long enough to listen to your intuition.
