NFL Power Rankings - Week 8

My thoughts to think about:

The Atlanta Falcons remain at #1 by virtue of not playing last week, although Houston made a pretty big case against Baltimore as to why they should regain the top spot.

Although a few teams were shuffled around, the top 10 remains the same for the first time this season.

The biggest surprise after Week 7 for me is the fact that only one team is undefeated and only two teams have one loss. Everyone else has two or more losses. Can this be attributed to the replacement refs at the beginning of the year…or maybe to the fact that the NFL is a passing league and teams are just chucking the ball around resulting in a fluke win here and there? What do my faithful readers think?

Once again, the Colts are the Team on the Rise as Andrew Luck continues to have an impressive rookie season. This time, though, the move from 27 to 21 is likely due to all the other teams around them losing in Week 7.

Baltimore is the Team on the Slide after getting blown out by Houston, 43-13. The Ravens fall 4 spots to #6.

Pats recap for my many New England readers: Wow! The Pats blow another 4th quarter lead, but are able to pull out an overtime win against the Jets. Now they get to fly to England to play the Rams. Could this be a trap game? Stay tuned…

Miami had a bye week, which means they didn’t lose!

Week 7 Survivor recap – I survived the Pats overtime scare and Jim still hates Survivor Pools.

Week 8 Survivor pick – I’m already kicking myself for this, but I’m taking San Diego on the road against Cleveland. I thought about taking Chicago, but I’m saving them for a rainy day.
