Steve Pfarrer’s Best Bets: Muswell Hillbillies at Iron Horse; Sweetback Sisters at Academy of Music
KINKS KONCERT (OR THE NEXT BEST THING)
Muswell Hillbillies, the Hadley ensemble of family and friends that’s been recreating the music of the Kinks for the last three years, heads to Northampton’s Iron Horse Sunday for a 7 p.m. show that will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Kinks’ first London concert. This special career-spanning show, including hits like “Waterloo Sunset” and “Dead End Street,” will be the Hillbillies’ final gig, band leader Dave Simons says — though he adds, “I’ve said that before. Who knows.” iheg.com
