Weekend Planner: Clubdate
A major force in shaping the folk revival of the e_SSRq60s, Tom Rush set his stamp on generations of artists, including James Taylor, Garth Brooks, Joni Mitchell, Jackson Browne, Nanci Griffith and Shawn Colvin. His 1968 composition “No Regrets” is an acknowledged standard, covered by everyone from Shirley Bassey to Waylon Jennings, while his version of “Panama Limited” — an amalgam of two train songs by Bukka White from the 1930s — has inspired countless musicians to take up slide guitar.
On Saturday Rush will be at the monthly Full Moon Coffeehouse at Wendell Town Hall for an up-close-and-intimate evening of songs and stories. 7:30 p.m. $15-$25 donation. 978-544-5557, wendellfullmoon.org
