Steve’s Best Bets Nov. 23

Signature Sounds, the Valley acoustic music label that opened a new office in downtown Northampton in September, will debut its “parlor room” performance space there tomorrow with a twin-bill: singer/songwriter Heather Maloney and her band (who’ve just signed with Signature), and the string-rock quintet Darlingside that blends guitar, drums, cello and violin. Two shows, 7 and 9 p.m. Visit signaturesounds.com for tickets.

More local sounds on an intimate stage: The Boxcar Lillies, who couple original songs with the classic harmonies and instruments of old-time country music, play the Iron Horse Music Hall Sunday at 7 p.m. Joining them are Jim Henry on dobro, Rick Mauran on drums and Paul Chochanski on bass. Northampton singer-songwriter Carrie Ferguson opens the show.
