Corinne Barrineau is a lifelong resident of western Massachusetts and a member of the Realtor Association of Pioneer Valley. She says there is nothing more satisfying to her than seeing her clients smiling on closing day. She takes pride, she says, in her honesty and knowledge of current market conditions.

She has lived in Hampshire county since 1997, (with the exception of two years in the early 2000s when she lived in Chicopee), and in Easthampton since Oct. 2005, when she and her husband married.

Full name: Corinne S. Barrineau

Date and place of birth: Jan. 2, 1980, Springfield

Job: Realtor and productivity coach for Keller Williams Realty. My real estate sales business is based out of Northampton, and I coach agents from all three locations, Northampton, Longmeadow and Feeding Hills.

Who lives under the same roof as you? My husband, Tonye Barrineau, a musician; my stepson, Baye Joaquin-Barrineau; my son, Z. Arden Barrineau; and my daughter, Ruby Moon Barrineau

Education: Bachelor’s degree in English in 2002 from the University of Massachusetts Amherst

Pets: Two dogs, nine chickens and a fish

Hobbies: Photography, writing, walking with my kids

Book you’d recommend to a friend: My favorite series is “The Chronicles of Narnia” by C.S. Lewis. I love fantasy and the whole series is captivating

Favorite singer/ group: When all is said and done, I’ll never get tired of David Byrne and Talking Heads

Five items you can’t live without: Family aside — my cellphone, coffee, my car, my pillow and my Nikon camera

Last thing you purchased just for fun: A really cute pair of shoes

What’s at the top of your bucket list? Paris

Life-changing experience: My son’s diagnosis of autism. Since that very moment things have just been so different and so enlightening

Strangest job you ever held: I was an engraver for a company in Holyoke when I was in my 20s

Current Facebook status? I shared a post about autism that said: If you are happy and you know it, FLAP your hands! If you have autism in your life you will totally get it

A little-known fact about you: I had about 50 different nicknames growing up. My favorite was the “Kool-Aid Kid” (referring to the time in seventh grade my brother and cousin talked me into dyeing my hair with pink Kool-Aid)

Dumbest thing you ever did: Not attending Oxford University for the summer program I was accepted for in the late e_SSRq90s. Biggest mistake ever!

One product, trend or fashion you’d like to see return: The era of sleek hair and short pouffy dresses with small white gloves and a clutch purse. Picture Audrey Hepburn

What really sets you off? People who use the word “like” too many times in a sentence. It gets worse with every generation

If you could spend the day with a celebrity from any time in history, who would it be? Abraham Lincoln. Aside from his deep impact on the course of the history for our nation, he was a man who never gave up and didn’t allow the failed attempts at government stand in his way of becoming one of our most important leaders

Best advice you ever got: From one of our real estate trainings at Keller Williams: It is the concept of “Be Here Now.” It means that whatever you are doing give it your full attention so that whatever you are doing later can get your full attention, and so on. When it comes time for family and especially my children I really employ the “Be Here Now” principle!

Favorite place to get a bite: My grandmother’s — because I still can

Favorite team: I am not a big sports fan. However, in honor of my late and amazing father, I will say Red Sox and Patriots

What does your ideal weekend look like? Nothing like they actually look like! Ideally I would be on vacation with my family every weekend. In reality I spend most of the time cleaning or just hanging around the house

One thing you would change about yourself: Nothing I’m willing to admit in public

What gives you the creeps? Being home alone at night. I have watched way too many scary movies. These are the times I really appreciate my dogs

People who knew you in high school thought you were: Friendly, bubbly, probably a bit annoying

Whom do you most admire? I most admire anyone who has a family, a home to care for, bills and work and other challenges and still appears sane

Parting shot: Just do the best that you can do. People are capable of so much more than they realize. Turn off the television, put down the iPad and get outside with your family. There is so much to do in this world. Start living
