SUMMER OF LOVE
Tonight at the Smith College Museum of Art, you can take a trip — no pun intended — back to 1967 and the psychedelic poster art of the American counterculture. “Summer of Love” features 70 pop-art posters of the late 1960s that served as a sort of visual social media, linking young people to music and other events with inventive images and colors. The exhibit runs through Sept. 15, but it opens today and is free from 4 to 8 p.m.
ANOTHER GOOD BET
The Boxcar Lilies, one of the Valley’s newer folk/Americana groups, celebrates the release of its album “Sugar Shack” tonight at Greenfield’s Arts Block Cafe from 8 to 10. The harmonizing trio will be joined by several other players, like Shutesbury’s Jim Henry, who’ll be on the dobro. 774-0150
