Weekend Planner — Fair
In addition to the much-bruited-about crafts and arts event at the Three County Fairgrounds, there’s another sort of fair occurring this weekend in Northampton. It’s the Pioneer Valley Book & Ephemera Fair, offering a cornucopia of rare books, prints, manuscripts, posters, photographs, postcards, comic books and pretty much every other sort of vintage printed material you can imagine. Sponsored by the combined Massachusetts and Rhode Island Antiquarian Book Sellers, the fair takes place Sunday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. through the entirety of the Smith Vocational School at 80 Locust St. Included among the lineup of over 70 dealers gathering from throughout the Northeast are many local collectors, including Barbara Smith of Northampton (children’s books), Michael Muilenberg of Amherst (natural history items), Barbara Paulson of Huntington (Victorian papers and postcards) and Ken Schoen of Deerfield (Judaica).
Admission is $6 general; $3 ages 12-21; under 12 free. Free parking on site. Food and drink available for purchase courtesy Amherst’s Black Sheep Deli. flamingoeventz.com
