‘TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD’

The book by Harper Lee and the 1962 movie starring Gregory Peck are by now the definitions of classics. A screening of the film on Tuesday at 7 p.m., at the Amherst Cinema, will offer filmgoers a chance to see how the tale of race, crime, justice and family in the small-town South of the 1930s holds up after all these years. Part of the Books into Films series.

ANOTHER GOOD BET

Seems there’s always more to say about Charles Dickens. The Great Books Discussion Group meets Monday at 7 p.m. at Forbes Library in Northampton to talk about “Little Dorrit.” Call 587-1011 or go to forbeslibrary.org.
