Suzanne Wilson’s Best Bets: ‘Drink: The Pleasures and Perils of Alcohol’; ‘Lee Daniels’ The Butler’
PLEASURES AND PERILS
Talk about your topical exhibit: “Drink: The Pleasures and Perils of Alcohol,” a show of collage photography by Barbara Norfleet, explores our culture’s endlessly complicated relationship with drinking. On view through Feb. 28 in the Leo Model Gallery at the Liebling Center at Hampshire College, Amherst. Hours are Mondays through Fridays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturdays and Sundays, 1 to 5 p.m.
ANOTHER GOOD BET
It got stiffed at the Oscar nominations, but “Lee Daniels’ The Butler” had its moments in its portrayal of a man who carried tea trays and served presidents and potentates in the White House for decades. It will be shown Jan. 27 at 3 and 5:30 p.m., at the S. White Dickinson Library in Whately. Free.
