Summer baseball: Ian Ostberg powers Northampton Post 28 in win over South Hadley

Ian Ostberg had two hits and two RBIs, as the Northampton Post 28 American Legion baseball team beat South Hadley Post 260 13-2 on Sunday at Arcanum Field.

Derek Zerinski also drove in two runs, while Hector DeJesus added three hits and picked up the win on the mound for Northampton (5-1).

Tim Horton, Will O’Connor and Pat Grygorcewicz all added two hits each, while O’Connor had an RBI.

Evan Levrault hit a two-run double in the fifth inning for South Hadley (1-3).

Ethan Fleming, Sean Doyle and Kyle Gemme also added hits.

Northampton 12, Wilbraham Red 0 (5) — Liam Pitrat and Tim Horton each had two RBIs for Post 28 on Saturday in a home win.

Hector DeJesus led Northampton (4-1) with three hits, while Ian Ostberg and Will O’Connor added two each.

Agawam 6, South Hadley 1 — Sean Doyle drove in Post 260’s only run of the day in the seventh inning.

James Foley had two hits and struck out three.

Evan Levrault also added a hit for South Hadley (1-4).

Easthampton 3, Aldenville 1 — Cody Cavanaugh hit a home run, and Will Jordan pitched a complete game for Post 224 (2-3) on Saturday.

Frontier 11, Mohawk 6 — Ben Zaranek had two singles and four RBIs for Frontier on Saturday.

Gehrig Brynda had three hits, including a double, while Tynan Creagh tripled.

Kyle Barnes picked up the win with six strikeouts.

Northampton 8, Frontier 2 — Patrick Serio doubled and struck out eight for Northampton on Saturday. Noah Brink hit a triple for Northampton.
