The Belchertown boys tennis team was on the verge of dropping its match with Amherst Regional on Wednesday.

But Jon Vinagre rallied to win at first singles, and the Orioles’ double teams followed suit for a 3-2 win over the Hurricanes.

Vinagre trailed 4-0 to Pat O’Connell in the second set, but rallied for a 6-2, 7-5 win.

Alec Morgado and Dennis Lelic then beat Andy Ni and Joey Green at first doubles 6-3, 6-3. Mike Laughner and Nolan Vogel beat Ethan Xu and Pat Cooper 7-6 (1), 6-3 at second doubles.

Austin Xiong (second singles) and Nathan Ji (third singles) won their matches for the Hurricanes.

Belchertown (17-2) visits Lee on Thursday for its last regular season match.

Amherst (8-7) will next play in the Western Massachusetts Division 1 Tournament.
