Wednesday’s high school golf: Jack Ter Doest qualifies for postseason; Frontier wins league title

Hopkins Academy senior Jack Ter Doest qualified individually for the Western Massachusetts Division 3 Tournament after leading the Golden Hawks to their first win of the season, 13-11 over Pioneer Regional, Wednesday at Hickory Ridge Country Club.

Ter Doest shot a 40 to claim co-medalist honors with Pioneer’s Kyle Mayard.

Ter Doest has shot at least a 40 in eight of 14 matches. He won his match against Mayard, 2½-1½.

Meanwhile, Frontier Regional clinched the Suburban West title with a 22½–1½ win over Mahar at Cherry Hill Golf Club in Amherst.

Mikey Corduff posted the match’s top score with a 38. Frontier (10-5) moved to 9-1 in the league. It’s won the league title the last three years.
