NORTHAMPTON — In his last game for the Northampton football team, Andy Grygorcewicz’s playmaking was on full display.

On Thanksgiving, the wide receiver caught three touchdowns in a 31-12 win over Easthampton.

“I really loved it,” Grygorcewicz said of playing football at Northampton. “It was a great experience. It taught me how to grow into an adult.”

Grygorcewicz caught six passes for 103 yards, all from emerging quarterback Tom Jacques.

“We all wanted this,” Grygorcewicz said. “We were rested and ready to go. He (Jacques) is going grow as a player and will be great.”

Jacques finished 8-for-19 for 142 yards with the three scores and two interceptions.

Easthampton, despite moving the ball effectively on offense, could not overcome seven turnovers, including six fumbles.

“We beat ourselves,” Easthampton coach Matt Bean said. “We made too many mistakes. We wouldn’t have beaten anyone today.”

Nick Pellegrini and Quintin Baker-Cisero (six catches, 81 yards) connected on two touchdowns.

Baker-Cisero caught a 3-yard touchdown to give the Eagles an early 6-0 lead.

Pellegrini was 12-for-17 for 117 yards with two touchdowns and a pick.

Northampton (4-6), with the help of short fields due to Easthampton turnovers, scored the next 23 points.

“I look at it as the first game of next year for the underclassmen,” Northampton coach Eddie Jewel said. “But our seniors hung in there and never quit. Great leadership. Showed them how to play football.”

Nick Sandoval shared a sack with Natnael Walton that forced a safety in the second quarter and added a individual sack for the Blue Devils.

Jake Brittain had an interception for the Blue Devils in the second quarter. Jasper Price-Slade added a sack for the Northampton defense.

Sopie Pek led Easthampton (5-6) rushing with 10 carries for 50 yards.

Ben Landry intercepted Jacques in the end zone for the Eagles. Jacob Neumann had an interception but fumbled on the return.

Grygorcewicz’s first touchdown was from 16-yards out, starting in and fading toward the sideline as he got near the end-zone.

Jacques’ throw only gave Grygorcewicz a chance for the ball among three defenders.

With the score 8-6, Easthampton made two stands at its own goal line before Northampton scored again with the safety.

Grygorcewicz’s second touchdown was essentially a basketball post up, carving out space for himself to catch the ball from 3 yards out to make it 17-6.

A 10-yard score for Grygorcewicz in the third quarter made it 23-6.

Baker-Cisero’s second touchdown came in the third from Pellegrini on a 2-yard throw.

Northampton’s Devontay Edmonds (14 carries, 43 yards) scored in the fourth quarter on a 1-yard run.
