No contests in Whately town election

WHATELY — The town’s upcoming election will feature no contested races for the second consecutive year, however, three positions remain vacant.

While nobody is going head to head in this year’s election, two three-year library trustee terms remain vacant, along with a three-year cemetery commissioner term.

The election will be held on Tuesday, June 13 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Whately Town Offices at 4 Sandy Lane. Early in-person voting will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. from June 5 through June 8.

The candidates are as follows:

■Moderator, one-year term — Nathanael Fortune, incumbent.

■Select Board, three-year term — Joyce Palmer-Fortune, incumbent.

■Town Clerk, two-year term — Amy Lavallee, who, while not an incumbent, is currently serving as town clerk.

■Whately Elementary School Committee, three-year term — Henry Frechette III

■Board of Assessors, three-year term — Melanie Chorak, incumbent.

■Library Trustees, two three-year terms — Vacant.

■Cemetery Commissioner, one-year term — Vacant.

■Board of Health, three-year term — Rebecca Jones, incumbent.

■Water Commissioner, three-year term — Georgeann Dufault, incumbent.

■Elector Under Oliver Smith Will, one-year term — Keith Bardwell, incumbent.
