Sue Morrello and Jeanne Esposito: Kudos to Fresh Air Fund families

Published: 07-11-2023 11:07 PM

We would like to give public kudos to some of the local families that have been hosting NYC children through the Fresh Air Fund for years. In fact, the Selig family in Hadley, the Plankey and Nichols families in Longmeadow and the Rainville family in Ware have hosted so long that the NYC youth who visit them have aged out of the program. The Fresh Air Fund provides transportation for them to visit through the age of 18, but the now young adults continue to visit due to the deep connection they have made with their “country families.” Most families host for a few years and even those years can truly make a difference in a child’s life. We are building back up after the Covid years, so we hope some new families will consider opening their homes for a week this summer. www.FreshAir.org
