Season highlights: Sarnacki followed an explosive sophomore season with a junior season that surpassed her previous totals in every category. She finished her junior campaign with 101 goals and increased her assists total from 28 to 48 in 2016. She adapted her game to adjust to double and triple teams and her assist total ballooned as a result. She scored 10 goals on three occasions. The Rams finished 11-5 overall and won the Pioneer League. In the Central/West Division 2 Tournament, Granby fell in the first round to Nipmuc 16-15 in OT. During her junior season, she eclipsed 200 points and 200 goals for her career. Entering her senior year, Sarnacki stands at 230 goals and 80 assists. Sarnacki had a game-winning goal with 18 seconds left against Amherst on April 28. Granby started its lacrosse program in 2014.

Sarnacki on her favorite moment during the season: “It was the last second win over Amherst. We were able to run a play and score off of it. We were able to execute under pressure with the clock against us.”

Sarnacki on involving teammates more: “I wanted more people to touch the ball. We needed to play more as a team. I wanted to trust my teammates more and give them the passes. As a result my teammates got used to having the ball with a chance to score. I knew I wouldn’t be able to score against double teams. We will be a better offense next year because of that.”

Sarnacki on what to expect for her senior season: “I am expecting a lot. I want to win Western Mass. in all three sports. We need to put in the work. That will pay off if we do. Hopefully we can put in more offseason work and build chemistry. Some of us are still learning and success comes with time. We keep getting new players. That’s where the offseason work comes in.”

Sarnacki on milestones and the progression of the Granby program: “The first year was just a building year. It was my first year playing lacrosse. But we’ve made a name for ourselves. People watch out for us as a varsity lacrosse team. I’ve always looked up to the people on banners. Now I am going to be one of them. I am going to start a banner for lacrosse so hopefully people can look up to me in the same way.”
