HADLEY — Possible contests for two seats on the Select Board and one seat on the Board of Health are shaping up for the May 21 town election, with less than two weeks remaining for those interested in being on the ballot to return paperwork.

As the deadline of 5 p.m. March 29 at looms, incumbent Select Board member Amy Parsons has pulled papers to run for a second three-year term, while David J. Fill II, a former Select Board member who lost a reelection bid in 2022 and now chairs the Finance Committee, and Kyle Patrick Dragon, a regional animal control officer, have both pulled and returned papers to run for the Select Board.

Parsons’ seat is one of two available on the Select Board, as incumbent Joyce Chunglo announced in January that she would be stepping off the board after 21 years, and following 15 years on the School Committee.

The other contest could be for a three-year position on the Board of Health, where incumbent Margaret Mastrangelo and former Select Board member John C. Waskiewicz II have both gotten nomination forms. Waskiewicz ran unsuccessfully for the health board last year.

Others who have gotten nomination papers include incumbent School Committee members Humera Fasihuddin and Paul Phifer, incumbent Planning Board member Mark T. Dunn, and incumbent elector under the Oliver Smith Will Maureen K. Devine, along with John J. Czajkowski Jr. for one of two library trustee positions and Robert Cross seeking a Park Commission seat.

There has been no interest yet in other positions, including a seat on the Board of Assessors, a second seat on library trustees and five-year and one-year positions on the Hadley Housing Authority.
