Minutewomen win first game for new hoop coach

Head coach Sharon Dawley and the University of Massachusetts women's basketball team picked up their first win of the season Wednesday with a 78-55 victory over Brown in Amherst.

UMass (1-6) jumped out to a 12-0 lead and never looked back as the Minutewomen held Brown (2-5) to 27.3 percent shooting.

Cerie Mosgrove scored a career-high 20 points while Shakia Robinson added 18 points for UMass.

Megan Zullo had 11 points and nine assists while Stephanie Lawrence chipped in with 10 points and eight rebounds.
