The University of Massachusetts women's basketball team cut a four-point halftime deficit no closer than three in the second half and lost 64-54 to George Washington Wednesday at the Mullins Center.

The Colonials (5-14, 2-4 Atlantic 10) made seven-of-eight free throws in the final minutes to seal the win.

Freshman Jasmine Watson had her second career double-double for the Minutewomen (7-13, 1-4 A-10) with 16 points and 10 rebounds.

Nicole Jones added 10 points, four rebounds and three blocks for UMass, and Megan Zullo contributed nine points, six rebounds and four assists.

The Minutewomen play at Rhode island at 3:30 p.m. Saturday.
