CHICOPEE — People who live and work within range of the public address systems at Westover Air Reserve Base might hear warnings on Wednesday morning. The base is running a drill.

Emergency responders and other agencies on the base are conducting a natural disaster exercise from around 8 a.m. to noon on Dec. 6, according to a statement.

Residents of the area might hear warnings coming over the base’s mass notification and public address systems as part of the exercise, the statement says. The exercise involves a scenario in which severe weather affects the base.

Any questions are being directed to the base’s public affairs office at 413-557-2020.
