NORTHAMPTON — Alongside the rest of the country, clerk offices around the Pioneer Valley are ready for Tuesday’s National Voter Registration Day. Pamela Powers, Northampton City Clerk, says that although there won’t be a registration specific event, their doors are open five days a week for everyone’s convenience.
Prospective voters are able to register in person at their town clerk’s office. Contact your local town hall for hours of operation.
Valid US citizens who reside in Massachusetts are encouraged to register. Online registration can be found at the Secretary of the Commonwealth’s website, www.sec.state.ma.us. Voter registration forms can be printed and either mailed or brought to your town clerk’s office. First time voters must provide valid identification when registering.
Oct. 16 is the last day to register for the 2019 municipal elections. The Northampton office will have extended hours from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on that date. Municipal elections will be held on Nov. 5.
