Lee Armstong: Pitching a resolution to COVID restrictions

I would like to propose a resolution to all the disputes over COVID restrictions and rules.

Especially troubling to many people is that someone can be fired for failing to get vaccinated. There were already lots of people angry over rules such as mask wearing and limited gatherings. All these efforts to curb the virus has brought a lot of anger and hostility, further dividing our country.

My suggestion is to eliminate any/all COVID-related rules/regulations, go back to doing things as they were before. Yes, there will be a tremendous surge in COVID cases, but primarily among those who refuse to be vaccinated or wear masks. Yes, some vaccinated people will get it, but relatively few and with much weaker cases than those who were not vaccinated. For those who are vaccinated, remember that the protection diminishes over time which is why you should get a booster shot.

Hospitals are already full, many non-COVID patients cannot be admitted due to lack of rooms. The new case loads will be many times greater than what they are today so there is no chance that our hospitals will be able to take care of everybody. The answer is to allow hospitals to refuse service to COVID patients that were not vaccinated. If they have room, they can be admitted, but this would probably be relatively rare.

The result will be a tremendous number of COVID deaths among those who refuse to be vaccinated, but then this is what they are asking for so let them have it.
