For the past 40 years I have been involved in the world of theatre — teaching, directing, acting, and playwriting. I have been actively involved in Easthampton with its emphasis on the arts and community. I fell in love with the small city at first sight and have taken part in its cultural and economic position within western Massachusetts.
Since moving to Easthampton in 2004, I have seen the role of the arts in revitalizing the downtown economy of Easthampton and impacting the greater region. Easthampton has transformed into a destination in part due to the large creative sector and investment in our historic structures. Old Town Hall serves as a destination location for visitors and the community. Imagine 350 people within its walls sharing memories, laughter and joy while they interact with musicians, storytellers, dancers, singers, and actors from Easthampton, the Valley, and places far beyond. Continual developments of the arts center can only serve to further the Old Town Hall’s reach as an iconic cultural attraction.
A dream the size of this one takes funding and I am proud to say that I am a donor. Won’t you join me in supporting this shared vision for western Massachusetts? Won’t you join me in contributing towards the reimagining of the Old Town Hall? In addition to my monthly donation, I have given $10,000 to CitySpace towards the restoration because I believe this project will transform Old Town Hall into a flexible performance and community space for future generations of artists and provide sustainable economic growth for our region.
