Your Photos: Blue heron at the Chesterfield Gorge

Friday, December 01, 2017

John Steckert of Northampton and his wife were sitting on some rocks in the river at the Chesterfield Gorge in September when a heron unexpectedly appeared within 10 feet of them. “It seemed curious since it approached another couple who was unaware of its presence,” says Steckert.

Steckert took the photo after the bird had flown upstream and landed on a rock with its back toward him.
