HOLYOKE — The three male occupants of a vehicle that police pursued from South Hadley to the Holyoke line suffered serious injuries when their vehicle ran into the Holyoke Department of Public Works building Saturday afternoon.

The Holyoke Fire Department responded at 3:30 to the intersection of North Bridge and North Canal Streets for a car that drove into a building, Fire Capt. Kevin Cavagnac reported.

The passenger car was being pursued by South Hadley Police, who terminated their pursuit at the South Hadley end of the Veterans Bridge, Cavagnac said.

The vehicle continued into Holyoke and crashed into the DPW building at 63 North Canal St. The Fire Department used hydraulic tools to extricate the occupants, who were transported to the emergency room with serious injuries.
