CHICOPEE — Police divers continuing a weekslong search of the Chicopee and Connecticut rivers for a missing boy on Wednesday recovered a body from the river.

The body was found around 11:15 a.m. between the North End Bridge and Memorial Bridge, police said in a Facebook post. Chicopee detectives and Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to the Hampden County District Attorney’s Office were called to the scene.

The body was taken to the Hampden County Medical Examiner’s Office for identification.

Police have been searching for 11-year-old Aiden Blanchard, who was last seen on the morning of Feb. 5 walking in the Willimansett area of Chicopee, near Old Field Road. He was believed to be heading in the direction of the Medina Street boat launch along the Connecticut River.
