Regarding the lawn sign controversy (“Stolen yard sign sets off firestorm,” June 16):

1. White allies should not get more ink than folks from the communities they are trying, however imperfectly, to support.

2. In 1993, The New Yorker magazine had very similar cover art of a Hasidic man and an African American embracing and kissing.

3. As Mr. Howard Bryant pointed out, this is truly a most Northampton kind of thing. While the parties involved are busy ironing out their respective brands of virtue signaling, can we please stay focused on the doughnut, not the hole?
