Wednesday’s high schools: Belchertown qualifies for boys volleyball tournament

It took five sets, but the Belchertown boys volleyball team won its regular season finale Wednesday to qualify for its first postseason since 2014.

The Orioles beat East Longmeadow 28-30, 25-23, 13-25, 25-22, 15-11 on the road to finish at .500 and make the tournament.

Nathan Wright had 15 kills and two aces for Belchertown (10-10, 5-5 East).

Derek Guntor and Nathan Bresnahan (11 kills) each added four aces.

Chris Lapointe had seven kills and three aces, while Connor Laflamme dished 30 assists and made two blocks.

Girls lacrosse

Pittsfield 15, St. Mary’s 4 — Hampshire Regional’s Skyler Duda had two goals as the Saints (0-11) fell to the Generals at home.

Mount Greylock 15, Granby 8 — Madison Sexton had three goals and Julia Frappier added two for the Rams, who played well after falling behind 5-0.

Nora Bernashe added a goal and an assist for the Rams (2-12).

Northampton 20, Belchertown 13 — Abby Baldwin compiled seven goals and four assists in a home win.

Sophie Bennett scored six times and dished two assists for the Blue Devils.

Shea Crowther and Ali Zadworny both had two goals and two assists.

Elly MacDonald scored twice, while Sky Andrews added a goal and an assist.

Jett DuVal and Kate Sullivan had assists, and Ella Moreau stopped four shots.

Morgan Mathurin and Elise Pikul each scored four goals for Belchertown.

Quinn Roche and Hannah Mitus both found the net twice, while Claire Baceski added a goal and an assist. Emily Sabel-Wimmer made six saves.

Boys lacrosse

Granby 7, St. Mary 4 — Nate Drapeau completed a hat trick in a road win for the Rams.

Mitch Labbee had a goal and two assists. Luc Chavin scored twice, and Tanner Imelio chipped in a goal and an assist for Granby (6-8, 6-3 Suburban).

Logan Gray and Ryan Walz both assisted on goals, and Nate Loughman stopped two shots.

Aaron Blanchard tallied two goals and two assists for St. Mary (3-11, 3-6).

Edward Towers had a goal and an assist, while Alex Pallante scored and Evan Ploof added an assist.

Colin Ramos made 17 saves.

Westfield 13, Northampton 3 — Tyler Allcroft scored twice, while Henry Attias added a goal and an assist for the Blue Devils (8-8, 2-6 Valley Wheel).

Ryan Heng stopped 17 shots, and Evan Moultan had an assist.
