Wednesday’s high school wrestling/swimming: Granby pins down Mahar

The Granby wrestling team beat Mahar, 47-34, in its first dual meet of the season Wednesday at home.

In the 106-pound weight class, Emmett Seibert pinned Sam DeJackome at the 1 minute, 1 second mark for the Rams (1-0).

At 170 pounds, Josh Vecchio, an Amherst Regional student competing for Granby through a co-op, pinned AJ Newman with 43 seconds gone.

Jacob Benson (120), Kyle Roe (126), and Phil Roberts (160) also won their matches for Granby via pin.
