AMHERST BOOKS: UMass Amherst MFA students read from their work as part of “Live Lit” Friday at 7 p.m.; Valley author Susan Stinson reads from her work Tuesday at 8 p.m., both at the bookshop, at 8 Main St., Amherst. 256-1547

UNIVERSITY OF MASSACHUSETTS: Novelist Sarah Ladipo Manyika and poet Sally Wen Mao read from their work as part of the Visiting Writers Series Friday at 8 p.m. at Memorial Hall; the Juniper Literary Festival features readings and displays and publications with renowned writers and alumni, Saturday 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m. at South College Commons, all at the university in Amherst. 413-545-0643
