AMHERST — UMass quarterback Andrew Ford and wide receiver Andy Isabella were among 106 Football Bowl Subdivision players named to the watch list for the Wuerffel Trophy, the award’s organizing body announced Thursday.

Ford, a redshirt senior from Camp Hill, Pa., enters his third season in Amherst ranking in the top five in program history in completion percentage, touchdown passes, completions and passing yards. Last week, Ford was one of 26 quarterbacks named to the Davey O’Brien Award preseason watch list.

Isabella ranked in the top 50 wide receivers nationwide in touchdown catches, yards per game and receptions per game. His versatility as a returner and running back also earned the Mayfield, Ohio native a nod on the Paul Hourning watch list, which was also unveiled Thursday, in addition to his recognition on the preseason watch list for the Biletnikoff Award, given to the top receiver.

The Wuerffel Trophy has been given annually since 2015 to “the college football player who best combines exemplary community service with athletic and academic achievement.” The semifinalists will be announced Nov. 1 and the finalists will be unveiled on Nov. 19. The winner will be revealed Dec. 4 in New York City and the trophy is presented on Feb. 15 in Florida at the 50th All Sports Association Awards Banquet.
