Two early-evening Northampton crashes result in minor injuries

NORTHAMPTON — Two motor vehicle accidents on two ends of town early Thursday evening resulted in one vehicle catching on fire, but only minor injuries in both crashes.

Northampton police received a call at 4:58 p.m. about a collision involving two vehicles in the vicinity of the China Wok Express restaurant on King Street.

As a result of the collision, one of the vehicles caught on fire, police said.

Northampton and fire department personnel responded to the crash. Minor injuries were reported and one driver was cited. 

At around 6:20 p.m., officers working a detail at New England Treatment Access reported a collision involving two vehicles in the vicinity of the Spare Time Entertainment bowling alley on Pleasant Street. Only minor injuries were reported as a result of this collision as well.

The injured from both accidents were transported to Cooley Dickinson Hospital.
