Tuesday’s colleges: Smith pulls away in overtime to beat Babson

The Smith College women’s basketball team pulled away from Babson in overtime, winning 83-73 in Northampton, Tuesday.

The Pioneers (9-4, 3-2 NEWMAC) outscored the Beavers (9-5, 5-1) 15-5 in the extra frame.

Kennedy Guest-Pritchett had 27 points and 19 rebounds, while Lauren Bondi added 25 points on 14-for-14 shooting from the free-throw line.

Téa Spellacy (Belchertown) came off the bench and finished with 17 points, six rebounds and three assists for Babson.

Emerson 89, Mount Holyoke 35 — GraceAnne Woods had 12 points for the Lyons (0-12, 0-6 NEWMAC) in the loss at home.

Women’s hockey

Amherst 4, Southern Maine 0 — Katelyn Pantera, Emma Griese, Emma Flynn and Kaitlin Hoang each scored as the Mammoths (6-5-1) won at Orr Rink.
