Amherst men’s basketball rolls past Anna Maria

The Amherst College men’s basketball team pulled away for a 78-41 victory over Anna Maria College, Tuesday at LeFrak Gymnasium.

Eric Sellew had 15 points, while Johnny McCarthy had 11 points, six rebounds and four assists for the Mammoths (5-0).

Fru Che shot 6-for-6 off the bench and finished with 12 points and two steals. Michael Riopel had nine points, four rebounds and a game-high four steals for Amherst.

The Mammoths outrebounded the AMCATS 47-31. They held reigning Great Northeast Athletic Conference Rookie of the Year Mike Rapoza to three rebounds.

Amherst plays at defending national champion Babson, Thursday at 7 p.m.
