April Vacation is in the rear view and thanks to the rain-filled start to the season, local teams will be playing a lot these next couple weeks to get all their games in before the deadline to finish the regular season arrives.
Here are some games to watch this coming week.
The Golden Hawks come in having won three of their last four, and head coach Dan Vreeland has his group playing some of its best baseball of the season over the past two weeks. Hopkins will be put to the test on Monday, hitting the road to play the back-to-back reigning Western Mass. Class D champions in Ware.
Ware has yet to lose a game this season, as they enter the contest a perfect 9-0. It’ll be a good test for Hopkins (8-5) to compete against one of the area’s bests.
Two of the highest-scoring teams in western Massachusetts battle it out on the lacrosse field in Granby on Tuesday. The Rams are led by the goal-scoring prowess of Kalli White while the ‘Canes have starpower of their own with Kiko Bhowmik.
There will be no shortage of action in this one.
The Generals come in at a terrific 8-1 and are one of – if not the – best team(s) in Berkshire County. Belchertown played against an extremely difficult schedule to open up the season and has caught its stride here late in April.
The Orioles are now 5-4 having won four consecutive games by a combined margin of 39-5. They’ll look to ride that momentum into a fifth straight victory on Wednesday.

For the third time this season, the Raiders and Bombers will face off in a softball showdown. If the first two games were any indication of how this one will go, it should be another fantastic battle between these two western Massachusetts powerhouses.
Just Friday these two teams squared off, and Hampshire won in eight innings in walk-off fashion. Shea Hurley and Ryanne Dubay add chapter No. 3 to a great rivalry in 2025 as Hampshire looks to sweep the season series.
Rams head coach Chad Gagnon was coached by Holyoke head coach Paula Conway when Gagnon starred for the Purple Knights during his high school days. It’s always a blast when these two coaches match up with one another on the sidelines.
Holyoke comes in losers of four straight, but it’ll be fired up to hit the road against the defending Western Mass. Class C champion Rams. Granby is 8-2 and has won three in a row.
