Williston girls basketball pulls away from Taft

Sarah Sullivan scored 18 points, and the Williston Northampton girls basketball team beat Taft 43-32 at home Wednesday.

The Wildcats started the game with a 12-2 run and never looked back.

Jordyn Meunier added 12 points, while Emma Gentile scored eight.

Boys squash

Pomfret 4, Williston 3 — Granby’s Tyler Senecal picked up a win at the No. 2 position. Luke Po of Florence won at No. 5, while Finlay MacDonald won at No. 7.

Girls swimming

Williston 58, Wilbraham & Monson 36; Williston 79, Ethel Walker 15 — The Wildcats finished their dual season undefeated for the second year in a row.

Boys swimming

Williston 65, Wilbraham & Monson 29; Williston 59, Avon 34 — Sam Haddad and Jack Cosica won individual events for the Wildcats.

Boys basketball

Williston 64, Loomis 56 — Tyler Thomas scored 17 points in a road win.

John Kelly (14 points) and Nik Kovacevic (10) also reached double figures. Solomon Neuhaus added eight points, while Abood Abuissa had seven. Andre Washington hit a big 3 late to help the Wildcats secure the victory.

Boys hockey

Williston 6, Canterbury 4 — Jake Sacratini had two goals for the Wildcats with Brendan Barrett, Jack Purcell, Alex Berg, and Tim Rego all adding one each.

Brendan Nehmer led the Wildcats with three assists while Shaul Mitton and Tommy Harty had two a piece.

Girls hockey

Williston 4, Northfield Mount Hermon 0 — Kate Holmes and Maura Holden tallied three points each in a road win. Tayah Sommer and Chloe Lewis combined for the shutout.

Skiing

NEPSAC Class B Championships —Williston finished seventh in the boys team competition and 10th in the girls team standings.

Lily Shields placed ninth in the girls slalom with a combined time of 72.37 seconds and was the top finisher for the Williston-Norhtampton girls in the giant slalom (94.91), placing 14th overall.

In the boys slalom, Matthew Shields (76.25) and Liam Shields (77.83) finished 23rd and 25th respectively. Chris Closuit (93.83) placed 18th for the highest finish in the boys giant slalom, capping three top 25 finishes for the Wilcats in the event.
